Words: we all gotta use 'em

he remind me of lil' ole ed

I recently finished Anthony Bourdain's Kitchen Confidential, which I would reccomend, even though Carol Ann once remarked "that guy's an asshole" after I told her they'd gone to the same Undergraduate school. She was right but I don't think it matters, or at least they agree.

One thing Anthony Bourdain definitely did for me (other than interview Harvey Pekar inside the converted-to-bookstore-from-antiquated-twinkie-factory) is use two words in such a way that I actually went about LEARNING what they MEANT after ASKING myself What does this word mean!?

exhibit A: DOUBLE-GAINER

exhibit B: DECANT

de·cant

/diˈkant/

  1. Gradually pour (liquid, typically wine or a solution) from one container into another, esp. without disturbing the sediment.
